This task light cost twice as much as a similar one found in Staples. However, I was not offered a choice of colors in Staples (only black) and the wattage rating is slightly higher for the Lite Source model being 100 watts instead of the 75 watts found in the less expensive Staples model. Otherwise, the products are very similar in design and functionality. I would not pay $25.00 again plus shipping for a lamp that I can purchase locally for $12.00.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

purple is beautiful too!!

I was so excited when I found this lamp online!

I was looking for a purple desk lamp for my new office and I was having a really hard time finding one....and then...there it was! It was just what I wanted.

I was having such hard time finding purple that I was ready to settle for red. When I found this one in red, I realized that it came in many more colors INCLUDING purple. Eureka!

Needless to say, I was happy as a clam and I couldn't wait to get it.

When it finally arrived, I was elated. It really was exactly what I wanted and the price was great too. Just perfect! Great lamp!!

Excellent maneuverability and reach. Takes 100w bulb and I substitute that with a 60w flourescent to get very good lighting. On/off switch wears out from heat using a 100w. Light and base are strong but base clamp is weakest part. You can drill a hole in wood to stick the base in and then screw or clamp the wood in the position/spot you want. Or extend a piece of steel out of the wood to slide the lamp base over. I love these lights and have them all over my house and office at work.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
